Irma Rangel Heat Transfer
Thermodynamics – Heat Transfer
The second half of the thermodynamics lab focused on heat transfer. In this lab, the students learned the chemistry and physics involved in heat transfer. The chemistry portion explained energy and its forms, including kinetic, potential, chemical, and thermal energies. The students were taught about the law of conservation of energy and the processes of heat transfer. Applying this knowledge, the students used thermochemical reactions and classified the reactions as exothermic or endothermic. The physics portion of the lesson explored the different processes of thermal energy transfer, including conduction, convection, and radiation.
